Know Your Sexual Self, Finland, August 11-14th 2016

“Transformative and Empowering. Mike and Louise held a safe space I could relax into and I hugely benefited from the light hearted yet respectful energy” Workshop participant”In our society there is no area in which integration is more needed than in relation to our sexuality”.

When we work consciously to expand and grow, sexuality is often the last piece that we explore. In our hyper-sexualised culture we are still left on our own when it comes to discussing sex, desire and pleasure. Figuring out who we are sexually, what we want – and why – can be confusing and frightening. Often, cultural expectations as to what we should and should not desire colours our beliefs about ourselves and thus limits our capacity for pleasure.

This experiential workshop introduces the visions and models of Psychosexual Somatics® Therapy (PST), and will offer you tools to address your own intimacy issues. Through a series of exercises, safely conducted on you own and in small groups, we will guide you through exploring the following issues:

~ What limiting beliefs do you hold about sex from your culture and upbringing?
~ What are your motivations for wanting or having sex?
~What deeper needs are you seeking to fulfil?
~ What desires are your comfortable with expressing, and which remain unexpressed or even unacknowledged.
~ What are the blocks that keep you from experiencing sexual fulfilment?
~ What are the different elements of your sexual life – and fully are they expressed?

The workshop will invite you to give and receive different kinds of non-genital touch, with a conscious intention of exploring your ability know what you want and need, ask for it and communicating your boundaries. There is no nudity in the workshop, and both singles and couples are welcome.

PST Practitioner Training

Starts September 2016 – see the website for full details.

The main element of the training is attendance at eleven four-day modules. Each module consists of three days of thematic training and a fourth day that is split between personal and group process and skills practice under the supervision of the teaching team. For the three-day thematic component students are invited to step into the role of student practitioner, holding their personal process until the appropriate time when personal material can be processed. This is because as therapists our own issues will get triggered whilst working with clients. We need to learn to hold our own process until the appropriate moment and still be able to work with clients’ issues.

This course is recognised by The Association of Somatic and Integrative Sexologists (ASIS) as offering a training of sufficient depth for Practitioners to be eligible for insurance for their work. See the-asis.org for more details.
